behandsandfeet
I'm one week into reintroduction (have tried non-gluten grains and dairy so far). Last night, after 3 days of feeling good and stable, I tried one 12 oz hard cider around 7:30 p.m. I went with the cider because I wasn't ready to try gluten-filled beer just yet. I felt absolutely fine drinking it and was tired by 9 pm my normal bedtime. However, once I tried to sleep I couldn't. The cider is the first really sugary thing I've had since finishing the Whole30 and I'm wondering if that influx of sugar right before bed super charged my body and kept me awake. I felt tired but could't sleep (and I've been sleeping great for the last week). Has anyone had a reaction like this to cider or sugar? I don't know if it's the sugar in the cider (much sweeter than a beer would be) or if it's the alcohol. Today I feel ok, just tired after only 4 hours of sleep. LeeAnn2017
I know this is old, but I think it's the alcohol. At least it was for me. I havent had anything to drink since I finished my Whole30 almost two months ago. I had one drink and didn't sleep too well that night. I thought it was just because I had been very active that day. However, I had more a few days later and didn't sleep a wink AT ALL after that. It. Was. Awful.
kirkor
Ya, alcohol is definitely not any help to quality sleep :-/
