Anneice
I saw a delicious breakfast recipe in which chia pudding was the base. I don't like the texture of chia seed in pudding form and was wondering if there is anything else that could replace the chia in this recipe. Would tapioca be okay? The original recipe is: 1/2 cup chia seeds 2 cups coconut milk 1 hearty dash of cinnamon (optional) Mix all together, cover, and refrigerate overnight. Thanks!!! Moderators ShannonM816 Posted August 1, 2016 Moderators Share Posted August 1, 2016 We would encourage you to skip the pudding for whole30. Don't try to recreate desserts or carby sweet breakfasts. Eat protein, vegetables, and fat at every meal. Have fruit occasionally.
MeadowLily
http://whole30.com/2015/01/rules-recommendations/ Alternative flours like tapioca, potato flour, cornstarch, rice flours and so on are gluten free foods made with junk carbs. All of these alternatives will cause the blood sugar to rise and high insulin levels follow. Gluten free flour alternatives and starches cause inflammatory visceral fat just like wheat flour. Don't fall for it. Junk ingredients are being used to replace wheat and gluten. They add no value to health.
