lisanaili
I hadn't worked out in a really long time and I started working out last Monday. Ever seen I've been feeling extremely tired and sleepy. I guess I might need to eat something, before and after, that helps me get through the workout and helps me recuperate from it. I tried to look for an article at the site but didn;t find anything right away, can anyone help me here?
Moderators Tom Denham Posted October 25, 2012 Moderators Share Posted October 25, 2012 One or two boiled eggs before and some roasted chicken breast afterwards. The focus on pre- and post-workout meals is protein. A little fat before a workout is good, but you should avoid fat in the post-workout meal because it slows digestion. If you are lean and need to keep your energy up, baked sweet potato is a good supplement to the chicken breast in a post-workout meal. These are classic pre/post foods, but others can work. penotti
Tom, why is it not allowed (or recommended) to have fruit before a workout? I usually have a banana & boiled egg.
