little_muffin
Where can I get compliant chorizo from? All of the ones I have seen have sugar and a list of ingredients longer than my arm
Derval
Haven't found any in Ireland either except maybe one from Gubeen Smokehouse, a small producer based in Cork. You'll ahve to go "niche" for sure, this place looks hopeful but you'd have to contact them for ingredients. http://hicksonandblacks.co.uk/products-page/meat/organic-cooking-chorizo/
Susan W
Super easy to make your own at least patty or crumbles style. I make all my own sausage now. Easy peasy. :0)

Susan W
Yeah, it doesn't have that certain something that the real thing has but I liked it. I'll find the recipe and post the link.
Susan W
Found it! On my tablet so can't copy the link but it's on the Three Diets One Dinner blog. She titles it Paleo Homemade Chorizo. I had my butcher choose the pork and grind it the way he does when he makes his. He used shoulder and rib meat.

Kirsteen
Our local farmers' market had a Spanish stall this week. I got chorizo there which contains simply lean pork, beef, spiced paprika, garlic, salt and oregano. I also got some at a local, mostly organic, delicatessan. It's made by 'el olivo olive oil company' http://www.elolivo-olive-oil.com/ and contains lean pork, beef, paprika and salt. It also says 'free of E numbers and gluten free'. It's also 'made from pigs that have been fed exclusively on natural products'. I think you can order from the website. It looks good but I haven't tasted it yet
