Danielle Rutherford
I work in a small office and two of the four people are sick. My throat has been hurting me the past day and is very swollen and hurts to swallow. I'm avoiding Advil, Emergen-C, and cough drops like I normally would take. I got some Vitamin C tabs at the store, but I'm not sure that is enough to kick this. Any suggestions to helping fight this bug?
Krista Billows Rodriguez
My acupuncture doc gave me this recipe: 3 cups water 1'" ginger, crushed, chopped or shredded 3-5 white/root of green onion-number depends on thickness Bring to boil, simmer 10 minutes, strain and drink hot before bed. I've used it a couple of times when I started feeling ill and so far, so good. When you're not W30 you can add a little sweetener but I actually prefer it without. It has a nice spicy heat to it. Moderators Tom Denham Posted February 14, 2013 Moderators Share Posted February 14, 2013 I used to swig a shot of apple cider vinegar and chase it with a glass of water. I don't know if it really works, but it seemed to stop a sore throat or runny nose from getting worse.

Thanks, I will try this! My acupuncture doctor has a cold tea, but it has some sugar in it so I can't take it.
Krista Billows Rodriguez
this recipe says you **can** add sweetener, but it really doesn't need it. I drank it without during my W30 and preferred it that way. Hope it helps!
