Nadia B
I have spotted them whole or ground in one organic store. I am reading that it's a tuber. Can someone with a stronger botanical background tell me if it's something compliant? Maybe someone has eaten it before? It doesn't fall into template too nicely, so I am mostly just curious. Thanks. NMG
I would try it. It's not related to white potato so I would think of it like turnip, parsnip, carrot etc unless told otherwise. Enjoy! I was looking at trying to grow some, but have found other odd veg to try instead. The Plants for a Future website is useful for looking up more unusual plants http://www.pfaf.org/...erus+esculentus Edit - When the Whole9 team find some spare time (!!) it'd be interesting to see their take on things like yacon, oca, skirret, other roots and rhizomes... Moderators Tom Denham Posted April 6, 2013 Moderators Share Posted April 6, 2013 I think they are okay as tubers. Wikipedia says they are higher in starch than white or sweet potatoes so they might be good as part of a post-workout snack.
