connie_m
I saw these in a salad bar at Whole Foods today. I've eaten them before out of the pods before I was doing a Whole30 - they're a lot like eating fresh peas out of the pod. Which makes me wonder if they would be acceptable? They're basically the fresh green version of what eventually turns into what we normally consider chickpeas/garbanzo beans. http://www.nutritionunplugged.com/2010/05/fresh-green-chickpeas-are-the-new-edamame/ Apologies if this has already been asked - my search just came up with a bunch of threads regarding regular chickpeas. Physibeth
It's still a legume so I'm guessing it is out.
connie_m
It's still a legume so I'm guessing it is out. So are green beans and peas, and they are okay, I believe because they're green/immature?
Physibeth
Green beans are snow/snap peas are ok because you are mostly eating pods. But regular peas are not. I think a moderator would have to make the call on this one but I wouldn't include them. There is much more bean than pod in that picture.
Robin Strathdee
Based on the amount of pod/bean, I'm gonna say no.
Susan W
"So are green beans and peas, and they are okay, I believe because they're green/immature?" Just to help you sort this out..grean beans are almost all pod. That is why they are okay. Peas are always a no. Those look like fun after W30.
