Haren.13
I know nuts are considered fat for the whole30, but wonder why they aren't also protein? One serving of almonds has the same amt of protein as an egg. I know nuts have more fat, but with the new "fat is good" mentality I'm curious :-)
Brewer5
Nuts are not a complete protein. This means that they do not contain all nine of the essential amino acids that our bodies require from our food (meaning we cannot manufacture them). Animal products do contain them all. Vian
animal proteins (including dairy and eggs) and quinoa are the only sources of complete proteins. All other plant proteins are incomplete.
