Mary T.
I started paleo last summer and tried my darndest to incorporate this magical, wonderful, all purpose, fantastical thing all the paleo people are talking about: coconut oil! They cook with it! Make body products with it! Add it to everything! And they're usually very passionate about it (hence all the exclamation points). I'm wondering what the fuss is all about. I just can't handle coconut in any form, my digestive system firmly says no thank you. Does anyone else have problems with coconut? What do you use as your go-to in place of coconut? Moderators Tom Denham Posted January 2, 2015 Moderators Share Posted January 2, 2015 I have no problems with coconut oil, but tend to use Pure Indian Foods brand ghee for all my cooking.
Carlaccini
I personally don't mind coconut oil but it is not my fat of choice. My fat of choice is duck fat. (I have some issues with ghee although I love it's taste) For me avocado disagrees with me completely. I know coconut oil/milk/butter is in a lot of recipes but there are always ways to work around it. Yes it sometimes takes more work, but if it disagrees with you it's worth the effort.
