bheck79
BBQ season is upon us, namely Memorial Day. What are some good ideas for side items to take to a Memorial Day BBQ celebration?
Carie Skeahan
There are sooooooooo many, but off the top of my head, this is one of our favs: Brussel sprouts. Ends cut off, the rest cut in fourths. Bacon Sliced mushrooms cook the bacon until desired doneness remove bacon add brussel sprouts and mushrooms to bacon grease cook until soft and brussel sprouts are a little bit brown rip up bacon and add back in with sprouts and mushrooms done

Megan Claydon
grill some veggies and fruit. Think squash, asparagus, bell peppers, and onions. Also, try grilling peaches (clean the grill off first!) . They are delicious!

cysgr8
I really like to bring fruit kabob's, avocado deviled eggs, or BLT cups to parties.... avocado deviled eggs: hard boiled eggs 1 avocado 2 Tb lemon juice salt pepper (combine yolk, avocado, lemon juice, S&P and refill the egg whites! Bacon cups: turn a mini muffin tin upside down, cover with bacon and bake until crispy. Fill with lettuce, cherry tomato & a dot of home made mayo! MelliebuStacey
My favorite one to make ahead and take along are egg muffins (everybody loves 'em so far!) -12 eggs -Ham (shaved) -Green onion -Spinach -Bell peppers (chopped) -Mushrooms (chopped) Preheat oven to 325 Lightly grease muffin tin with paleo approved oil of choice (I use coconut) in a large bowl, beat eggs and add chopped onion, spinach, bell peppers and shrooms Line muffin cups with shaved ham slices Pour egg mixture into cups (about 2/3 full, they rise like mad) Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown ENJOY! slpears
I think BBQs are about the easiest -- to our last BBQ we brought: -cedar planked salmon with an orange/mint salsa -grass-fed ribeyes with chimmichurri (do-die-for) -vegetable skewers - egglplant, peppers, zucchini - marinated in balsamic + garlic + olive oil -chicken drumsticks - marinated in coconut oil + chipotle + garlic - grilled until crispy -baba ghanoush - perfect for dipping - with jicama, carrot etc. I love a summer BBQ!
