Annie Schunior
Yesterday I ran to a coffee shop and ordered a shot of espresso. I never add anything in it but saw AFTER I drank it that the description said it was "brewed with cherries with notes of caramel". I tried to find something in past forums but didn't see anything... Did I just make a Whole30 oopsie?
laura_juggles
No. Words like "fruity" and "hints of chocolate" are words used to describe the flavor of the bean. If all you got was an espresso in a tiny cup and it wasn't sweet (you'd have known if they added a syrup or some kind of sweetener), then you're fine. GoJo09
Are you sure it said "brewed with"? Because they often use descriptors like cherry and caramel for the flavour notes of the beans
ArtFossil
We can't know how the espresso was brewed or with what. Ask the coffee shop about the coffee blend and about their brewing methods. If it didn't taste sweet I'd ignore it. But I wouldn't have it again.
