Kirsteen
Would you make bone broth with bones from *ordinary* cows? I've run out of bone broth. The farmer's market, where I get my bones is over a week away. I'm pretty sure I could get bones from my local butcher but have no idea the provenance of the meat, neither will he (it's just ordered from the abbatoir). As far as I'm aware, cows in the UK are reared outdoors and will eat some grass and silage but goodness knows what else. Is it worth getting these bones to make broth or am I better just doing without until the market and I can get them from my regular farmer? Moderators Tom Denham Posted November 22, 2012 Moderators Share Posted November 22, 2012 I think bone broth from ordinary bones is better than no bone broth at all. I'd make a batch.

Alana in Canada
I read the original question with bated breath! I've just made up a batch with bones from who knows where. The alternative? Using those "cubes" which are really noxious. Thanks for the reassurance Tom!
Carlaccini
I hear you Alana! I did the same. That was my logic too Tom! Thank you for clarifying.
