Stephanie Hayes
I recently received some Rooibos Chai Tea, It's all organic and all natural but I had no idea what Rooibos was so of course I googled it. It says it comes from a plant that belongs in the legume family. Does this make it a NO NO for Whole30? Help. I already don't know if I'll like it but I don't want to try it if it's not allowed. Thanks!
Mj Slazak Courchesne
Huh. I should think that tea is ok as long as it doesn't have/you don't add sugar (i.e., just a tea bag that you steep). I drink tea all the time (mostly green though), so I'd be sad to think you might not be able to have some.
Renee Lee
yep, it's just the leaves from the plant...not the bean/reproductive part of the plant. You're fine! And Rooibos is _awesome_
Stephanie Hayes
Ok great! Thanks! I will look forward to trying it out
jbadams08
They actually recommend Rooibos tea in their book, so you should be fine as long as the ingredients look like they are approved. I did buy some tea the first time I did a Whole30 and then later looked at the ingredients and found out I couldn't drink it. You'd be surprised what stuff they add that isn't even necessary! Kim Christensen
Yep. I have an amazing (and expensive lol) caramel bedtime tea that has stevia in it. Argh. You can't taste it, and it's not sweet at all, but it's still in there, argh.

Kim Christensen
I bought it the day I ran in to try and find the good spicy chocolate tea you were raving about.

Kim Christensen
Hehe. Well every time I open the cabinet I want to shake my fist at my stevia filled nighttime tea. Blasted tea!
Sasha Korellis
If it is the Yogi Tea brand it has stevia added. Although Stevia is an herb it is not on the Whole 30.
