rachieleah
Some medications, like Tylenol, contain inactive ingredients such as cornstarch and preservatives. Some, like Cepacol, contain sugar alcohol. Is it not okay to take these for a headache and sore throat (or OTC meds with similar inactive ingredients when illnesses pop up) during a W30? Moderators Tom Denham Posted January 2, 2014 Moderators Share Posted January 2, 2014 You can keep taking Tylenol. We are strict, but not so strict as to rule out OTC meds like Tylenol. On the other hand, our general acceptance of meds is not a license to suck on throat lozenges or to take cough medicines with alcohol.
rachieleah
I don't even remember reading "alcohol" on Cepacol's ingredient list! I choose that one for a sore throat because it's one of the few throat meds that is compatible with breastfeeding. Maltitol is one of its inactive ingredients, though. Renee Lee
if you need them, take them...but don't pop 'em like candy. personally, i'd look for non-cough drop remedies.
praxisproject
If there's something you normally take, ask your pharmacist if there's a W30 friendly alternative, they often have to find alternatives for people with allergies.
