kehleemarie
Hi! I found what looks to be a yummy tea! The only ingredient I think could be controversial is the cocoa shell? Does anyonoe know if cocoa shells are complaint? Here is the link to all ingredients where it explains them all: https://www.yogiproducts.com/teas/cinnamon-vanilla-healthy-skin/ Thanks in Advance! Guest Andria
You can not trust this online ingredient list. It appears to only be highlighting what the company is trying to promote as beneficial ingredients. Have you looked at the actual ingredient list on the box, itself? Many Yogi teas have stevia leaf, which would make it non-compliant. The cocoa shell is not a problem.
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted January 27, 2015 Moderators Share Posted January 27, 2015 Cocoa shell is a new one to me -- but I would think it's probably okay, just as unsweetened cocoa powder or Crio Bru are okay.

I just emailed their company to inquire about it. I really hope there's no stevia leaf in it! It looks so good! I will everyone knwo what they say! Thanks!! kehleemarie
I did just find this interesting thing on their website though. It says products that stevia leaf is in that they make and it isn't listed. praxisproject
Not a big fan of the info they put on their labels (nutrition panels with missing information - see photo on iHerb). Personally I wouldn't trust them.
Sleeve
As with all husks and shells, the shell is the concentrated source of phytates that bond to minerals you consume and make them massively less bioavailable, 90% less available in the case of iron. If you do choose to drink this, do so at a gap to and from your meal times.

caitnicole
Hello! I was searching google for this type of tea on the Whole30. I know there is no stevia, but what is the deal with cocoa shells? Would this be approved?
