Jiainiml
I was walking through the gluten free isle at central market and ran into these Kale Chips that sound very interesting. The ingredients are as follows: KALE, BANANAS, RAW SHREDDED COCONUT, PINEAPPLE, LEMON JUICE, HIMALAYAN SEA SALT Is this something i can try? Moderators Tom Denham Posted January 17, 2013 Moderators Share Posted January 17, 2013 We would rather you made kale chips yourself with fresh kale you buy from the produce department, but this old, bagged stuff is okay.

Too many temptations and a huge part of W30 is learning to eat and be happy eating whole, fresh foods. Kale chips really are easy to make. You could even sprinkle them with coconut which sounds genius to me. I don't make them often because they yell "SNACK" in my head and I could actually eat an entire bunch of kale in one sitting in chip form which, I could never do if it were steamed. That's my little trick to see if it's a food messing with my head.
missmess
I have the worst luck making my own Kale chips. I've tried numerous batches, and they always seem to burn so badly and make the house smell so bad. Maybe not enough olive oil? or too much? le sigh...Any tips? Michaela Elmore Cogswell
burn? cooking too long and/or your oven temp is too high. Reduce you time and temp and you should be good. I haven't made my own yet, but nomnompaleo says to bake at 400 for 12 minutes
melbournegirl
380 works better for me, keep the pieces similar in size/curliness too if you can and toss them after 5 mins... Can't help the smell though I have tried varying amounts of oil doesn't seem to affect much
Jiainiml
Thank you all for the feedback, i will try and make my own kale chips and see how it goes, hopefully much better than the last few times i've tried. I'll keep away from "this old, bagged stuff"
melody
I've always found Brad's kale to be really good, tastes better than any I've been able to make. I haven't tried the coconut kind, but love the "naked" and "vampire killer" as a quick addition to meals when I've run out of other greens! Just avoid their "natural nacho" because for some reason they added agave to this flavor. And eat soon after buying because they don't stay fresh for very long because they are raw! http://www.bradsrawc...le-collection-
