kindergartencowgirl
I make my own mayo, I go through a batch a week, I put it on EVERYTHING and I love love love it. Lately I've been wondering what I could use to doctor it up a bit. Any simple additions or alterations to spice it up? I'm going for variety this round. Moderators Tom Denham Posted October 11, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 11, 2014 The classic dry ingredients are salt and mustard powder. Instead of mustard powder, I like to use yellow Jamaican curry. I've also used Madras curry, garlic powder, probably one or two other things. I keep coming back to the yellow Jamaican curry. It makes the mayonnaise yellow, but I love the taste.
AmyS
Cumin, chili powder, curry powder, smoked paprika, dill, mix with dill pickle juice, lemon or lime juice, mustard... (I eat a lot of mayo too.) I don't usually add these ingredients to the mayo as I make it, just to the meal I'm eating with the mayo on it. Super yum. HealthCreators
I like to put in some left over avocado (yes, there is such a thing), with some paprika, maybe some hot headz chipotle pepper sauce to make a really creamy, spicy mayo. Sometimes I add lime juice of coconut milk... I like this with chicken or meatballs. Just dipping some bell peppers or cucumber sticks in it is also nice. Semolina
chop fresh herbs in. chives and shallots (yum); lots of chopped up parsley (with or without shallots / garlic); or my fave: cumin, paprika and lime juice. I ADORE mayo and eat loads of it.
