"Hello In There"

We had an apartment in the city,
Me and Loretta liked living there.
Well, it'd been years since the kids had grown,
A life of their own left us alone.
John and Linda live in Omaha,
And Joe is somewhere on the road.
We lost Davy in the Korean war,
And I still don't know what for, don't matter anymore.

[Chorus:]
Ya' know that old trees just grow stronger,
And old rivers grow wilder ev'ry day.
Old people just grow lonesome
Waiting for someone to say, "Hello in there, hello."

Me and Loretta, we don't talk much more,
She sits and stares through the back door screen.
And all the news just repeats itself
Like some forgotten dream that we've both seen.
Someday I'll go and call up Rudy,
We worked together at the factory.
But what could I say if asks "What's new?"
"Nothing, what's with you? Nothing much to do."

[Chorus]

So if you're walking down the street sometime
And spot some hollow ancient eyes,
Please don't just pass 'em by and stare
As if you didn't care, say, "Hello in there, hello."

Hello in there! Got my book today after work. It was waiting for me on the front porch.

Made some yummy salmon patties with a big squeeze of lemon, some dill some tarragon, egg and coconut flour. Served them up with some sugar snap peas, cubed butternut squash, ghee and a few pecans a bit of cardemom and a pinch of oregano. Very satisfying.

The bicycle in the tree is in the woods less than three miles from the downtown Vashon area. This small bicycle grew into the tree after a little boy left it in the woods during the 1950s. It is approximately seven feet off the ground and attracts a number of visitors annually.

Great Q&A up on Paleo Magazine!

Q: Is there something about the Whole30 that seems to work like magic? I know many have found success with your program, when they’ve otherwise failed at every “diet” they’ve ever attempted.

A: In part, the rules and structure of the Whole30 set people up for success. The rules are black and white—you know exactly what is expected of you. You’re eating to satiety (no counting or restricting calories), which means you’re never hungry. We target not only your food choices but your habits, teaching you the foundations of a whole new lifestyle. And we provide a detailed plan with exactly what to do when the 30 days are over, instead of just dumping you right back into your old life (and old habits) when the “diet” is over.
