chezjulie
Thanks, Britt! I wasn't feeling like I was doing so great with the sugar bomb of a breakfast yesterday, plus a little too much nut butter creeping in. But I would say I'm still walking the walk for the most part. I knew yesterday morning that I was just feeling crappy for a variety of reasons, and the muffin/protein bar breakfast was not going to become a regular thing. I didn't feel like I was going "great" but I didn't beat myself up about it at all. What is weird is that when I do eat that stuff now, a lot of the time I don't really enjoy it. I also hate when I order steamed vegetables at a restaurant and they come with butter! I can taste it immediately, and it makes me wish I had remembered to order them plain. WholeMama623
I've had a bit of nut butter here lately too. It's been AMAZING, therefore I need to stop buying it. This was my downfall the last time I did a whole30. LOL>

This was my downfall the last time I did a whole30. LOL> Yep, I stopped buying it halfway through my Whole30 because it was a Food Without Brakes for me, but my husband likes to have peanut butter at home for PB&Js and I've been raiding his stash. Definitely something I need to address as it's undercutting all my good choices throughout the day.

Lots of cold showers and microwave dinners until it is fixed. This is tough because I prepare so much of my food by sauteeing it in oil, or roasting or broiling it. I have a lovely Italian turkey sausage in the fridge that I can't use. Also, I've been thinking about the fact that I have a small snack (usually involving peanut butter) most evenings lately. I think what happens is that I know I'm only supposed to eat 3 meals a day, so I don't plan anything for the snack, and then I go roaming in the kitchen for something that looks good, and the only thing we have that is "snacky" and not totally off plan - like bread or ice cream - is peanut butter. So I think I need to just accept that I'm likely going to want a snack later in the evening and plan for something that is a better choice. I'm not sure what that would be though, as meat doesn't really seem appealing before bed.
WholeMama623
How about hardboiled eggs? or maybe apple slices with almond butter? I buy the individual packs of almond butter so that I cannot go buck wild with how much I eat! I love almond butter and I think it might be a little better than peanut butter. I was very anxious and ate my way through it, plus a lot of sugar. I did track everything though so I would know why I was having bad results later. Function: Oh my god, eating an entire bag of frozen broccoli & cauliflower yesterday was a terrible idea! My poor stomach... Flow: 1/2 dance class (tired so went home early) Feelings: Hmmmn, looking back at the past week, my actual meals looked great. It was usually just that darn evening snack... I was thinking about fruit and nut butter, too, Britt, but I'm a little nervous about it because nut butter is such a Food Without Breaks for me. Maybe I just need to toss DH's peanut butter and see if he notices!

I don't normally eat rice or frozen meals, but I'm all out of veggies. Feelings: When I grabbed a frozen meal this morning on my way to work, I realized that I don't think I've eaten a frozen meal in almost 100 days. I have been feeling bummed about getting off-track with a sweet here and some nut butter there. I do think it would be a worthwhile exercise to think about how much my diet has changed for the better since I began the Whole30 at the end of April. So look for something along those lines in my log soon! That being said, there was a post on the Whole30 Facebook page recently in which Melissa Hartwig was quoted as saying ""At least it's better than...": Please do not ever use this phrase with me when I’m trying to help you with change, the end." I'm going to reflect on that as well. Donna, I really didn't have anything bother me during reintroductions, although it was a little hard to tell because I was sick. I tried an elimination diet once before though and also didn't notice any issues with particular foods. I count myself lucky that way.
