Thanks, Britt! I wasn't feeling like I was doing so great with the sugar bomb of a breakfast yesterday, plus a little too much nut butter creeping in. But I would say I'm still walking the walk for the most part. I knew yesterday morning that I was just feeling crappy for a variety of reasons, and the muffin/protein bar breakfast was not going to become a regular thing. I didn't feel like I was going "great" but I didn't beat myself up about it at all.

What is weird is that when I do eat that stuff now, a lot of the time I don't really enjoy it. I also hate when I order steamed vegetables at a restaurant and they come with butter! I can taste it immediately, and it makes me wish I had remembered to order them plain.

W8D60M1   3/4 bran muffin, Starbucks grande soy latte w/1/2 pkg. raw sugar

W8D60M2   3 eggs, TJ's turkey bolognese, chopped whole sweet potato, baby spinach in ghee & olive oil w/TJ's 21 Spice

W8D60M3   steak, roasted broccoli, sweet potato w/ghee, honeydew melon chunks

W8D60S1    binge portion of peanut butter

Food:   Another interesting post-Whole 30 realization. The bran muffin that I used to have for breakfast every Sunday morning with my Starbucks no longer tastes good. Just kind of processed and sweet. ETA: Had trouble getting to sleep and grabbed the jar of DH's peanut butter. Not the mindset I want to have!

I've had a bit of nut butter here lately too. It's been AMAZING, therefore I need to stop buying it. This was my downfall the last time I did a whole30. LOL>

Yep, I stopped buying it halfway through my Whole30 because it was a Food Without Brakes for me, but my husband likes to have peanut butter at home for PB&Js and I've been raiding his stash. Definitely something I need to address as it's undercutting all my good choices throughout the day.

W9D63M3   2 Applegate hot dogs, sweet potato w/ghee, broccoli & cauliflower w/mayo, can of Coke

W9D63M4   1/2 tortilla w/peanut butter

Food:   Hey, did I mention that the gas is not working in our apartment?! Lots of cold showers and microwave dinners until it is fixed. This is tough because I prepare so much of my food by sauteeing it in oil, or roasting or broiling it. I have a lovely Italian turkey sausage in the fridge that I can't use.

Also, I've been thinking about the fact that I have a small snack (usually involving peanut butter) most evenings lately. I think what happens is that I know I'm only supposed to eat 3 meals a day, so I don't plan anything for the snack, and then I go roaming in the kitchen for something that looks good, and the only thing we have that is "snacky" and not totally off plan - like bread or ice cream - is peanut butter. So I think I need to just accept that I'm likely going to want a snack later in the evening and plan for something that is a better choice. I'm not sure what that would be though, as meat doesn't really seem appealing before bed.

W9D64M1   2 Caveman bars (basically Kind bars under another name), 2 mini Milky Ways, sliced almonds

W9D64M2   2 Applegate hot dogs, small serving Cruciferous Crunch (cabbage, kale, Brussels sprouts & broccoli) w/EVOO & balsamic vinegar

W9D64S1    3 Dr. Praeger's Spinach Cakes, peanut butter, chocolate cake sample, chocolate truffle, Gingerberry Kombucha

W9D64M3   beef kebab, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, pita bread

W9D64S2   Oatmeal Bake

W9D64S3   peanut butter

Food:   Terrible food intake today. I was very anxious and ate my way through it, plus a lot of sugar. I did track everything though so I would know why I was having bad results later.

Function:   Oh my god, eating an entire bag of frozen broccoli & cauliflower yesterday was a terrible idea! My poor stomach...

Flow:   1/2 dance class (tired so went home early)

Feelings:   Hmmmn, looking back at the past week, my actual meals looked great. It was usually just that darn evening snack... I was thinking about fruit and nut butter, too, Britt, but I'm a little nervous about it because nut butter is such a Food Without Breaks for me. Maybe I just need to toss DH's peanut butter and see if he notices!  ;)

Ugh, hope your gas is working soon.  That would drive me crazy!  Best of luck to you!

OMG, Donna, we waited for the gas company to come out from 11:00 in the morning to 1:00 at night yesterday, and they finally came this morning at 8:00. If felt soooooo good to have a hot shower, and I'm looking forward to cooking again.  :)

Are you feeling well, with the re-introductions you've done so far?

W9D67M1   1 sweet Italian turkey sausage, 1 applegate hot dog w/ketchup & mustard, peppers & onions in coconut & olive oil, red jasmine rice, coffee w/milk

W9D67M2    EVOL Chicken Tandoori, very large peach, 2 Hershey minis

W9D67M3    tilapia fillet in TJ's curry sauce, plain fries, fresh figs

Food:   Can you tell it's grocery time?!?!? I don't normally eat rice or frozen meals, but I'm all out of veggies.

Feelings:   When I grabbed a frozen meal this morning on my way to work, I realized that I don't think I've eaten a frozen meal in almost 100 days. I have been feeling bummed about getting off-track with a sweet here and some nut butter there. I do think it would be a worthwhile exercise to think about how much my diet has changed for the better since I began the Whole30 at the end of April. So look for something along those lines in my log soon! :)

That being said, there was a post on the Whole30 Facebook page recently in which Melissa Hartwig was quoted as saying ""At least it's better than...": Please do not ever use this phrase with me when I’m trying to help you with change, the end." I'm going to reflect on that as well.

Donna, I really didn't have anything bother me during reintroductions, although it was a little hard to tell because I was sick. I tried an elimination diet once before though and also didn't notice any issues with particular foods. I count myself lucky that way.
