bbyoung50
I have two workouts tonight, 4-5, 5:30-6:30ish, is it acceptable to have a larabar in between? I've seen in past forums larabars are almost discouraged because it might be used as a substitute for something worse. Would it be better to just wait till after my last workout and have a big protein filled meal? My first workout is weight training, so I assumed it would be smart for me to eat something. What do I do...?? Thanks everyone!
MeadowLily
http://whole30.com/2015/06/future/ We have made the difficult decision to remove RxBars, Beaver Bites, and Yawp bars as official Whole30 Approved partners. But hear us clearly: this isn’t about the ingredients, the bars themselves, or the companies behind them. It’s about the way we have observed people (mis)using the bars during their Whole30 programs, and our desire to provide the best guidance possible for your program through our partnerships. - See more at: http://whole30.com/2015/06/future/#sthash.xSb3Tahx.dpuf We will no longer promote dried-fruit-and-nut bars under our #Whole30 Approved banner - See more at: http://whole30.com/2015/06/future/#sthash.xSb3Tahx.dpuf Going forward, we will no longer promote any dried-fruit-and-nut bars under our official Whole30 Approved program. The only bars to which we will lend our name and our logo are those with meat as a base (like Primal Pacs, Chomps, and Epic Bars), as those will never be mistaken for candy. - See more at: http://whole30.com/2015/06/future/#sthash.xSb3Tahx.dpuf
jmcbn
Larabars are for emergency use only. Like stuck in traffic emergency, with no gas station in sight for 10 miles either way.Apart from that they are not optimum pre or postWO meal choices as fruit should be avoided both pre & postWO, and nuts (fat) should be avoided postWO.Can you bring some tinned tuna to eat between sessions? bbyoung50
That's a great idea, jmcbn, I did see at the grocery store Jennie-O makes turkey sticks now, I might have to go check those out too. And I had no idea nuts shouldn't be consumed after a workout or the fruit thing, thanks for the fun fact Meadowlily, that's unfortunate but I can see their point, thank you for updating me
kirkor
Personally I'd just wait 'til dinner rather than try to fit something in at the gym.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted June 25, 2015 Moderators Share Posted June 25, 2015 Larabars are never a good choice. Your goal should be to never eat a larabar ever. Review the meal planning template to see what we recommend pre- and post-workout: http://whole30.com/downloads/whole30-meal-planning.pdf
