sineaddg
Hi, Coconut sap is an ingredient on the back of pre packaged cashew kale chips. Also, nutritional yeast and himalayan salt? I assume these aren't allowed, but I just want to check to make sure. The brand name is Solar Raw. Thanks!
Robin Strathdee
The coconut sap would be the only no-go on the ingredients. I do believe its a sweetener/sugar.

PonyLove
i understand the sugar thing.. sap = sugar NO GO.. however I'm curious.. on the W30 pantry guide.. Coconut Secret - Coconut Aminos is listed as W30 friendly but coconut sap is in the ingredients. Is it because you use such a small amount in cooking or is it just one of those 'we have to draw the line' things?
quotidianlight
You have the wrong brand. There is a brand without sap
PonyLove
I don't think so... It is specifically listed in the ISWF Pantry Guide as W30 friendly and even has a link to the product. http://www.coconutsecret.com/aminos2.html The ingredients listed are: Certified Organic Raw Coconut Sap - Naturally aged and blended with sun dried mineral sea salt. quotidianlight
Shoot I was thinking of coconut sugar. Wouldn't the sugar get eaten up during fermentation like with kombucha? Hmm...
Robin Strathdee
You've got it - the sugar gets eaten up in the fermentation process.

Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted January 3, 2017 Moderators Share Posted January 3, 2017 I answered your question in your other thread @Rebecca Troelstra . While answers are not necessarily immediate, we do ask that you don't post the same thread multiple times.
