Blackieh
Hi! I got these peas, but I am not sure what kind is it. Can somebody please tell me if they are compliant or not? Thank you!
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted April 12, 2017 Moderators Share Posted April 12, 2017 Yes as long as you eat the shell too... don't just take the pea seeds out. They're called Snap Peas. Apparently these are English Garden peas, the shell is not edible and the inside is a legume so they'd be out. Sorry for the incorrect advice. jmcbn
These look like english garden peas to me, which means they are a legume, and they are out. The pods are fairly tough, right? For reference snap peas, snow peas etc have a softer pod, and are more pod than pea. Snap & snow peas are allowed.
laura_juggles
The little leafy bit makes them really look like garden peas, which are out. For really clear pictures on the differences, I found this article http://www.thekitchn.com/whats-the-difference-between-snow-peas-sugar-snap-peas-and-english-peas-ingredient-intelligence-205118

Archie
These are English peas. I grew up eating them straight of the plant as I was picking for dinner as a child. Without question, they are English peas and sadly not in the program
