s1153910
Hi everyone! Whole30 newbie here. I found a company at the store that I am wondering about compliance. I think it looks ok, but my whole30 virgin eyesight might be too naïve to label reading still. It is called The Jackfruit Company. Specifically the Curry Jackfruit product. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks in advance. https://www.thejackfruitcompany.com/curry-jackfruit/
Administrators ladyshanny Posted December 28, 2017 Administrators Share Posted December 28, 2017 What is throwing you off? If a product's ingredients don't contain any off plan ingredients, the item is fine. Let me know which ingredient is stumping you?
s1153910
ladyshanny, nothing is throwing me off. I'm just not that familiar with jackfruit and looking at things with whole30 eyes. I'm just asking for help in choosing products that I'm new to from people with experience.
kirbz
Everything there looks good to me. For me, I always found the oils to be a bit confusing. So here's a quick summary: Not Allowed: corn oil, rice bran oil, soybean oil, and peanut oil Limit: safflower, sunflower, canola, grapeseed, or sesame Have At It: olive oil, coconut oil, animal fats
laura_juggles
I kinda find myself wondering where jackfruit would fit into a template meal. It's a fruit, sure, but it's a meat substitute with hardly any protein. So are you going to have carnitas with a side of jackfruit and cauliflower rice? Compliant, sure, but (to me, just in my opinion) it's like an odd man out.
