Chestnuts

Where do they fall on the spectrum?

Are they green, red, or yellow light nuts?

You know, like macadamia is recommended but there are others that are "eat sparingly?"

Someone gave me two bags of roasted/peeled chestnuts as a gift and I've been thinking of eating them as preWO snacks with a HB egg.

Chestnuts look pretty good nutritionally, at least in regards to omega6 fats, delivering a dose of 1110 mg per cup. For comparison, macadamia nuts deliver 1720 mg, almonds 21,223 mg, and walnuts 41,339. Since we generally need to reduce omega6 fats and increase omega3 fats, these numbers matter. Chestnuts deliver some omega3 fats - 133 mg. Macadamias deliver 259, Almonds 0, and walnuts 2508. The amount of omega3 fats in walnuts would be good except they come with an overdose of omega6 fats that spoil the party.
