Twinmommykat
Higs that is interesting re bacon. I suck that shizz down - coupla packs a week!!! I have a very salty palate though, I love salt. You do taste the salt more on the bacon in the absence of sugar. Costco also has a sugar free bacon, I haven't tried it. I can't find a compliant sausage to save myself. Ahhh but I am avoiding nightshade spices that could be the diffce. When I get around to it I'm going to have the butcher here make me a custom order. YAY FOR SPAG SQUASH. Fingers crossed. Deb--thank you for the bacon rec! I will look for it and speak with the manager about stocking Red Boat :-). Hey--tell me about this butcher of yours...maybe we could go in on a bulk custom order together. Can bacon be frozen? Yay for compliant chicken stock! Capt--decluttering away. Just took a trip to ikea for storage stuff. Laurie--sending you and Steve love and healing energy. Kat

Twinmommykat
Lazy MamaMiki pokes holes in spag squash...nukes for 5 to 7. Let cool, cut (I can't cut it raw), scoop out seeds, shred the rest. Then add it to dishes as you see fit. Ground chicken, coconut milk, thai spices & fresh basil, or tomato sauce, w30 pesto. Miki--that sounds amazing. Never tried Thai-style, only rd sauce or pesto. Sounds yum! I nuke it, too when time is short. Toasting with olive oil better tasting. Don't cook till too mushy--it needs to shred and still have a tiny hint of crispness. Just my 2 cents. Love the idea of BOM or BOW--CC, thanks for the rec. I'd be happy to contribute, too. Always have a few things going on my kindle at once... :-) Kat
Deb.
Tell your fishie sauce stories here!! Dave, knock 'em dead!! Meadow, thanks for the reminders to relax and restore. My belly looks just like those runner gals so I definitely need more rest. I jest! Dawner, dinner sounds yum!!! Joni, feel free to provide us with the QOD!!! That would be awesome! I'm betting your bloodwork will show amazing improvements. I don't eat eggs so I just eat whatever I feel like for breakfast. This morning it was a bison burger pattie with AIP ketchup, roasted sweets pots (leftover from yesterday) and green salad. Yummo! Miki Mik your stir fry sounds delish. It makes me happy that you are a spag squash guru. I didn't post a lot of Asian recipes in the fish sauce section as I am saving them for Asian day!!! (next week) But they are an easy Google. CC what's your fave W30 pad thai recipe? Outdorsgrl, keep on keepin' on! Nanny, oooooh the emergency stops can be scary, I feel you on that. Hope you're feeling better. Kat, you can def freeze bacon, freezes and defrosts well. Yes to going in on an order together, great idea. If we did that I'd probs go to the butcher in Santa Monica which is these guys: http://www.yelp.com/biz/a-cut-above-butcher-shop-santa-monica In Hollywood we have Lindy and Grundy, also fantastic, and these guys are the ones I actually spoke to about the sausages - but they would all do it. http://www.yelp.com/biz/european-deluxe-sausage-kitchen-beverly-hills Allright friends, must get into the day. Stay tuned for recipes for tomorrow's IOD - MUSHROOMS!

MeadowLily
Rose - I love tea parties. What would be something compliant I could fix for a tea party? What time is the afternoon tea supposed to be held...is it 3:00 PM? I like Twinings Irish tea, definitely one of my favorites. Plain jane all the way. No coconut milk, zip, nadda, zero. I want to make a fun party for my folks, my mother needs to be destressed. I know I've said those words on here before. Deja vous. Bing.
MeadowLily
Deb - Bear has a big kidney on the countertop. I asked him..."are you boiling us up that big kidney for supper"? He laughed like a hyena... "No silly, I'm rendering kidney fat." I really don't even want to know why Jethro Bodine is doing that. Seriously, I've witnessed more weird things in my freezer than you could ever hope to imagine. He put his buffalo/bison hide in there. I don't remember what the purpose was. I want to go down there and reach for vege and chicken breasts/turkey but I'm afraid there's buzzards in there. Jethro would eat a porcupine if he had to...aka as roadkill. Yes, Deb...we are loaded to the gills with offal.
Deb.
What would be something compliant I could fix for a tea party? Rose is your Huckleberry. Did you see this? http://forum.whole9life.com/topic/15472-tea-party-foods/ I would make a frittata and cut it into little slices. Need to know what rendered kidney fat is used for!!!! MeadowLily
Thank you, Deb. I just asked. He's using it for cooking. He's going to fry some 'taters in it and other things. He says it makes the best french fries in the world. Especially for you...from his voice to your plate..."Grill your T-bone until it's golden...take that kidney fat and smear it on top like you would butter." "You have to buy an untrimmed T-bone" "You have a big chunk of kidney fat that you can use". "The fat will turn golden just like the steak...then use a fork to smear the fat on top... it will melt everywhere like butter." "You'll then find out what a real steak should taste like.". Oh, and lest I make Jethro Bodine sound like a big dummy...the man ain't no dummy. He can build, wire and plumb a house..hunt and cook anything. He is educated. I think Jethro only went through the 3rd grade. Bear went through all of the grades, college, too.
MeadowLily
Ahh, heck-a-toot!!! I just read your link! Rendered Kidney Fat....french fries, frying chicken...pie crusts, biscuits and pastries. Well, I'll be..... Kidney Fat is the fat that surrounds the kidney, and is the highest-quality fat found in a cow. DeyDey's Rendered Kidney Fat can be used as a substitute for butter for: stove-top cooking, deep-fat frying French Fries or chicken pieces, in pie crusts, biscuits and pastries. It is a very stable fat. Storage for Kidney Fat can be at room temperature or in refrigerator. MeadowLily
Higs, do you like this dentist? This is offal, I mean awful. I can't stand the thought of your mouth hurting. I cringe when I ask, did you have to pay cash for this treatment? Is there a money back guarantee, of course not. Bear rendered 9 pints of fat, $63 worth. He told me to tell you, "if things ever go south, it would be worth its' weight in gold. People would be standing in line for it." Deb is probably the only one who can appreciate that. She knows her stuff, I tell ya. She's been all over the world from Shanghai to Hong Kong...Nepal to Naples. Deb is off the hook. She is the Speaker of the House, motivator of the WD30 8/21. Without her, we'd all be eating a dog's breakfast. There would be no IOD.
