MeadowLily
http://www.weather.com/news/news/blake-shelton-rescues-stranded-oklahoma-motorist Country music star Blake Shelton, an Oklahoma native, became an unlikely hero Thursday night after rescuing a stranded driver from floodwaters near Ardmore, Oklahoma. Enlarge Blake Shelton and Roho Hartman pose for a few photos after the singer lent Hartman a hand. (Screenshot/FOX 23) Roho Hartman attempted to drive through waist-deep waters dumped by Tropical Depression Bill when his truck stalled, KFOR-TV reported. After a short time, Shelton pulled up in his Dodge truck, offering a towrope to Hartman and another Good Samaritan who was also helping. “The guy said ‘are you ready?’” Hartman told KFOR. “I thought … that looks like Blake Shelton.” (MORE: Oklahoma Rescuers Find Body of Jeremiah Mayer, Toddler Lost During Flooding from Tropical Depression Bill) The trio was able to pull the truck to safety, FOX 23 said, but Hartman was left without a way home. So what did he do? He asked Shelton for a ride. The star happily obliged. Hartman said the two engaged in friendly conversation on the way. Shelton took a few photos with the man's family before taking off. “It was great,” Hartman told local media. “He’s a good fella I think; I like him.” Shelton is known as a proud Oklahoma native, and no stranger to lending a hand when his home state needs help. He was instrumental in organizing "Healing in the Heartland," the 2013 benefit concert that raised money in the wake of the deadly EF5 tornado that hit Moore, Oklahoma. MeadowLily
jmcbn - are you back in biz today? Tell us why it's the actual coffee and not the caffeine that jacks up cortisol. I'm coffee free and still think about it. Green tea is alright but it's not that tasty. Kelli - get better, girl! MegaG - soakin' up the sun, sittin' on the beach. DreamWeavers - hope you're recovering from your hospital stay. SpinSpin - busy bee... Denise - running a marathon. LissFish - are you drinking coffee? Dave - are you still in the brace? I'm coffee free and still think about it. Green tea is alright but it's not that tasty. It's believed to be something to do with the organic acids found in the bean and their effect on the neurotransmitters. Also the high levels of antioxidants in the bean effect insulin sensitivity, which in turn creates inflammation and hyper-sensitivity, which in turns raises the cortisol levels, which means more glucose..... and so the cycle continues. You're right though green tea is ok - the caffeine hit is certainly smoother - kind of relaxing & uplifting all at once, but there is no replacement for coffee. That smell........
