You have got to stop the food porn!!!! LOL, Just kidding, but again you're making me hungry and I ate dinner late. I have to tell you that my husband who's doing Whole30 with me looked over my shoulder and and said Ohhhh Whats That? I think some roasted or grilled veggies are on the menu for tomorrow.

Felicat...I'm glad they've stirred up your appetite.  I think you can make most of these by eyeballing the photo. Recipes are welcome,  if anyone would like to share theirs, please do.

Proteins, Fats, Vegetables - the trifecta of a Whole 30.

Morning...so this is where y'all went... Go away for 4 days and the world shifts! :D

Had fritatta for M1 today, Sauteed some onion and sweet red pepper in coconut oil in my cast iron #5 skillet. Sliced up a small sweet orange pepper, tomato and zucchini from my garden, layered those in the skillet, some sea salt and generous amt of fresh ground pepper. Whisked 3 eggs and poured that over the pile of veg then sprinkled some tarragon on top. Popped that in the oven at 350 for about 10 minutes.... yum!

Has anyone tried balsamic vinegar in their morning scramble? I got a wild hair one time and splashed some in while cooking up my greens. WOW! It had been a while since I had fixed that, tried it again yesterday. Sauteed some onion in coconut oil, then thru in some kale and spinach then doused in some white balsamic, cooked it down a bit then cracked 2 eggs on top and cooked. It wasn't pretty, but it was delicious. Think it is going to be one of my go to dishes.

Off to get in my walk then to the food store and farmers market.

I've been thinking about Groundhog Day.   In the older WD30's we were agreed that no one wanted to go back to Groundhog Day.   We had enough of feeling sad from the SAD.

There may be a season and a time for Groundhog Day.  The Whole 30 has counselors you can call on if you need help with food disorders or further counsel.

I'm talking about someone who psyches themself out before they get to the finish line.  Groundhog Day may be the answer for that.

You can google Whole 30 for articles about overthinking the entire process.   If you are a marathoner, you have to urge yourself on.   If you're a daily runner, no one else can gear you up in your quiet corner of the world. You're out there on that trail alone.  You have to mentally prepare yourself to get up off the couch and move at some speed above couch mode.

oh, I guess I should intro my self. My name is Denise, I am an emotional eater, and I love food. I haven't found too many I don't like, yes I like liver,etc... :D I did my first Whole30/turned into 60 in 2014. My second was a 100 that cruised on by that, stopped counting after 100, then did some reintro and found the sugar dragon had come roaring back. So, back to the tool(whole30 self examination, whole9 etc) box where I know I can get the help I need to bring this monster under control. After 51 years of dietary input, some out of my control when I was a babe, some good some not, I know the road is not smooth right now, but I believe with time and applying the right tools, it will smooth out. How long, who knows, I know it isn't overnight, I suspect it will be a few years, but that doesn't scare me anymore. I know that there have been and will be times when I'll make some choices that will be rough, but they will all benefit me in one way or anther. What teaches me benefits me. It's a long road, but hey that's life isn't...

Groundhog Day for constant restarts.   There's only one part of this book I did not reread all of the time.   That would be the timeline.   I did not want to give my brain a permission slip to lay down on me in the middle of the trail like a stubborn mule.   If my brain started dwelling on how it should feel on a corresponding day...during my first Whole 30,  I might've stopped in the middle of the trail.

I know I could handle reading the timeline now.   In the beginning,  I wasn't so sure.

If you're constantly quitting on yourself....Groundhog Day it.   Every day, visually see the Reset Button that you can also Whole 30 google.  Start fresh every morning and make it through the day.  BAM!   Hit that Button!  Today, you are going to ignite, delight and excite!

Don't dwell on the calendar or ticking the days off.  You have enough cues from your smart phone and other handy dandy devices to know what day it really is.

Stop thinking about everything.  As a restarter,  you know the rules and recommendations.  You have everything down pat.   Don't allow yourself to think about anything but buying the groceries and making 3 superb meals a day.   No snacks.  None.  There's always an exception to that recommendation and that would be the expectant/new mothers.

The Whole 30 Recommendation is NO SNACKING.  Those who knock it out of the park don't snack at all, ever.

Groundhog Day it.    If your brain has been on overdrive with too much branded diet talk,  it's like that water sensor I told you about.   Your brain has filled up with too many plastic balls and it's not letting the Whole 30 process sink in or you may be leaking with too many old thought patterns caused by dieting.

Don't go there.   Don't think.   No stinkin' thinkin'.    Put one foot in front of the other. March on.

Place your meals on the table and enjoy the visual cues.  After awhile, your brain will come along for the ride 100%.  Until then, summon up your gumption.  Steel yourself and brace yourself against self-sabotage.

You want a first-rate Whole 30.  Just one is all you need.

Cottage Queen and LissFish....I'm so glad you're here.   We need cleanin' and riddin' and fixin' to do all of the above.

I've thought alot about cleanin' and riddin'.  We all need that and it is another visual cue of what's going on inside of our heads.  Brain Train.

Groundhog Day.

Bill Murray was snarky and a real pill until his old routines no longer served him.  He traded UP with positive action and thoughts.   We are the stories we tell ourselves.

He told himself a new story every day until he finally stuck the landing.  He landed at a place that served him well.

Tiny steps for tiny feet.   Don't overthink the process.

If you've been telling yourself for years and years that you can't get out of a binge/branded diet cycle followed by massive amounts of cardio to counteract all of the above...time to tell yourself a new story.

Very few can continue to out exercise thrill eating.  Another binge is not a cure for a food addiction.

We are the stories we tell ourselves.

If you've told yourself for years that you don't like math - that can become I suck at math or I can't do math at all.   None of the above may have been true in the first place.  We're much stronger than we give ourselves credit for.

Meadow...thanks for the reminder of where we have been. Lest we ever forget.

Grandsons are visiting so I will only be on intermittently.

Denise and Liss...glad you are here

We've only been a hair away from the WD30.   :D  We'll put that to bed until such time the Chief comes back.  Until then,  we're rolling on Kelli.

We've Cowgirled UP.   There's a 40 degree drop in temperature today.  From semi-summer to fall overnight.   Weather extremes.  El Nun-yo to El Nino.  I'll take El Paso, any day.  Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to El Paso on that one.

You have great time with your littles.

Hello My name is Liss and I'm a bad carb addict. I'm Here!!!! Finally, eh? Haha

Happy to see yous all here. I need to go back and read pages 3-5  of this thread but I just wanted to stop in and say Hello!

I am a borderline diabetic and working towards not crossing that border. Ever. I am also looking to be my healthiest self so I can be proud of things I'm able to do with this body I've been given. I'd like to clear up my rosacea as well.

I am cutting back to white potatoes once every two weeks if I can. The sweet taters have grown on me.

Kelli - we're on the same wavelength. I'll be prepping tomorrow - spaghetti squash, kalua pork and roasted veggies. I need to throw a new one in the mix but I haven't decided which one yet. I never got around to cooking that bok so maybe I'll try that.

Last week was crazy family stuff... this week has been crazy work stuff. If I hadn't lost my fitbit charger I think my steps would've been through the roof I did so much running around and hardly any sitting. But I'm back. Yay! I missed all the motivational posts. :)

You'll be back when your schedule permits.  The sweet taters grow on everyone. They're a local favorite.  I prefer them over zoodles.  I like another member's green bean spaghetti.  That's another 5 minute meal if your sketti sauce is already made.  Use green beans instead of zoodles. Quick, quick.

The Whole 30 is so individual and personal.  It doesn't lump anyone together under one size fits all. We stand toe to toe with one another but not in competition.  Women and men don't compete either.  The forum is a supporting role that we've come to rely on.

It's a safe place where we can ruminate about our dilemma's and past food history. Our stories often piggy back on our sociological parallels.  In this world's rural and city landscapes, we can all connect here.  The Whole 30 program seems to be specially-taylored for each of us.

Like a golfer who shanks a few shots, or if someone gets the yips and starts second-guessing themselves - we're all here to help them craft a WINNING strategy.

Evening y'all. Went to visit my itty bitty mom today. She's 89 years young. We had a nice lunch with my sis and her hubs and then went back to mom's house and started planning her 90th birthday party. I had to explain all about the W30 at lunch. Peoples reactions are always interesting. I hope everyone has had a good day.

What did they say that was interesting about W30?

Phew...DH and I are tired. Watched both grandkids while daughter worked then took them back to her. 2 year old said this to DH after DH took a nap. Good morning Papa; I missed you. It was sooo cute.

Amazing thing happened to her...she waits tables and depends upon tips.. Met a wheelchair bound motavational speaker and they got to talking. She made a $100 tip.

She said to me ..that is such a blessing. I told her I was proud of her for taking care of her kids.

Made pork roast in crockpot with ACV and sweetpotatoes. Grandson loved that meal. He does W30 at my house and does not know it.
