czrider
I'm desparate. I need to bring an appetizer for Sunday Bears game and I don't want anyone to know I'm doing Whole 30. Any ideas? THANX Besides a veggie tray...
Administrators ladyshanny Posted October 1, 2015 Administrators Share Posted October 1, 2015 Meatballs (search on meljoulwan.com or the Well Fed cookbook series). Chicken wings with just olive oil, salt and pepper. Chicken skewers dipped in ranch dressing. Baby bell peppers stuffed with a ground meat mixture. Devilled eggs. Moderators ShannonM816 Posted October 1, 2015 Moderators Share Posted October 1, 2015 If you have compliant bacon, bacon wrapped potato bites (obviously, the sour cream dip with those is not even remotely compliant -- I made them for a party and used a roasted garlic mayo for dipping, or if you want spicier, mix homemade mayo with compliant hot sauce). Or check out this post from Nom Nom Paleo for other ideas.
MeadowLily
I always bring an olive tray with all kinds of olives for the main attraction with beautiful vegetables added for decoration. Pickled asparagus is a nice touch, too.
GFChris
Well Fed's Bora Bora Fireballs along with Sunshine Sauce for dipping have been a huge appetizer hit for me when I bring them to parties.
MrsStick
If you really want to be fancy and can control yourself (both big IFs so knowing yourself will be huge here)...dried pitted dates, stuffed with an almond, wrapped in compliant bacon or a portion of a slice of prosciutto, baked at 350F until the meat is crispy are to die for. But only if you can control yourself around the sugar bombs that are otherwise known as dates.
SpunkyBug
If you ever DO want a dip to go with a veggie tray (especially sliced red bell peppers) try this: http://www.foodandwine.com/recipes/hearts-of-palm-dip It's super easy and soooo good. Folks always ask for the recipe.
