Raisins, dates?

Raisins and dates -- read your ingredients, make sure there's nothing added. Dried fruit like raisins often has sulfites of some kind added to maintain color. Either raisins or dates should be accents to your meals, not a focus of them, and they shouldn't be used as a snack by themselves.

Vanilla extract is out because it will almost always have alcohol in it, and the few that don't have alcohol usually have some kind of sweetener.

Please refer to the Can I Have guide and the various downloads to help you determine what is and is not allowed on a Whole30. While we're always happy to help explain the program, many, many questions have been answered in the past.

Dates are a whole fruit and are recommended for use in cooking only rather than eating as they are due to the sugar hit.

Date sugar & date syrup are not allowed.

Thank you! I had a question about using dates in things, like bbq sauce. Good to know that whole dates are allowed, in moderation of course.
