StinaBomb
Day 6, done. Took the son to the doctor and the visit ended up being way longer than anticipated. It was well into their dinner hour so we went to their favorite fast food place and I was able to stay compliant. Of course it meant I had a measly green salad with some compliant mustard but I didn't cave. I had 2 hardboiled eggs when I got home. I didn't feel tempted to have anything in particular but wasn't thrilled with my one option - glad my good lunch kept me satiated!
djoyce
Hey all... Great day here. I ate on plan and I am feeling good. jmcbn - I am not a fan of the addition of the post-workout snack/meal. I feel just fine with out adding an extra meal... I have done 6 previous W30's and I have tried post workout with three squares and just three squares... and I feel way better without a post-workout addition. Today was lunch of a big salad with two compliant sausages, and a small apple. This evening was 2 pasture-raised pork chops, a big salad and a tomato with salt and pepper. I have found that mustard is one of my biggest friends on the plan. Of course you have to research to ensure that it is compliant (no sugar or wine additions) but I use all kinds of mustard in my cooking. I routinely use mustard with chilli seasoning (again read your labels because not all are W30) and some garlic powder as a marinade for most of my meats. The mustard and spices is a great coating and I don't miss not having BBQ sauce. It is easy, tasty and does not involve the making of W30 BBQ sauce. Tomorrow I start riding to work and the day starts off with some 400M sprints and some Olympic lifting circuits. Keep up with it all. Love the process! Cheers DJ

JenX
Well, I fell off the wagon for the last two days, but I'm restarting tomorrow. Can I still participate in this thread?? :-) Yes! I am so glad you decided to get back on.
JenX
Jen X can you YouTube an aerobics class series and do it seated in a chair? I hurt my leg week one in May and it took until now to feel right and now my Achilles are acting up Its really frustrating Do you have access to a stationery bike? I also use that and bands they will be in place of weights they'll get your cardio up It's not the same as a run but it may help you Can't bike with the boot on either. I've tried I have a trainer for my road bike in the house, AND a treadmill, both of which are currently gathering dust. I've had to bail on 2 triathlons, and a half marathon -- luckily the last 3 races on this year's calendar. If nothing else I'll go be cheer squad. I will go to the gym tomorrow and at least do weights/machines so I'm doing something. And maybe some more 1-legged rowing machine. thanks everyone for the suggestions! Kakiosorio
Hi!! 5th day on this journey. Today after my lunch I was craving for something sweet and I just ate some raisins (sugar free)!! Took a coffee with a friend but before I went to the coffee shop I was hungry so I ate a little bite of leftover chicken, went for the coffee and after I ate a big chicken and pork salad for dinner. jenty
six days done. whew. it started out rough like the 5 days before it but i actually started feeling a bit better this afternoon. my mind was crankier than my body for once. usually they are neck and neck when being denied sweets. today my cravings were all mental, not physical, and i was able to stay on track. also, today i did better as far as having structured meals that followed the template, too. i had been having to snack on fruit and nuts the first few days to keep from going off the deep end. hopefully i'll be prepared for any mental or physical changes tomorrow so i can keep going

ElvenSong1
Made it through so far. Had too many nuts today. Tooth pain is coming back....thankfully I see the specialist tomorrow. Pain goes from rt Temple down the right side of my face and into my jaw and being my ear. It's not as severe as it was last week, but it is ramping up again. /sigh
Britishgal
My eyes feel better this morning thankfully...they are just red and wrinkly now so it's still sunglasses in the drizzle! My little one is going to a party on Thursday evening and the birthday boy's mum has asked me to go and help...so I'll be braving a no popcorn film at the flicks followed by pizza express. I'm sure I can hold out on the popcorn as long as I sit on my hands but I'm not sure about the meal yet, I may eat later once we are home!

Marcella
Day 7, everyone !!!!!!!!!! Yippee!!!! Doing OK, a few aches and pains but manageable. My mood is fine (kidding, it's fine, really). I DO feel like I'm at the grocery store or cooking a LOT of the time. Probably why my feet are so sore, lol. I've been doing brisk walking about 20 minutes a day. I know that's not a lot, but hey, it's 20 minutes more than I used to do. This morning my daughter said she wants to join me on the Whole30! Hooray! I really hope it helps her. It'll be nice to do it together. I love reading everyone's posts here. Here's to us!
bonvino
I noticed my feet hurt, too! You know the experience of Thanksgiving dinner when you spend lots of time planning, shopping, cooking, etc. and then the meal is eaten in 5 minutes? I feel this way every day! II'm loving those 5 minutes. I bought the Frugal Paleo cookbook and highly recommend it. I will start exercising this week. Can't wait!!

djoyce
Today was a tough morning. I did my Olympic lifting course (online instruction with Dianne Fu - of Fu Barbell club), 400 M sprints on my street, had a quick breakfast (coffee, 4 poached eggs, cucumber, 1/2 banana) before hopping on my bike and riding to work (my wife is off for the summer and I bike to work to leave her and our kids the family car). I had some cucumber repeats all the way to work on my bike. My legs are feeling it a bit but it is all good. Today was my first of many days riding to work. Lunch is planned today and packed here beside me at work. Dinner is TBD. Tomorrow is my son's 12th birthday. He knows I won't have any cake but he does want a family dinner out. We are going to a buffet. I know that there will be roast beef, baked potato and veggies that I can have. I am planning ahead and will steer clear of any off-program choices. Jen X - don't know if you saw the footage of Julie Foucher (Crossfitter) at the regionals this year. She hurt her Achilles' in competition and continued on with some of the competition wearing a boot. It was pretty inspirational. Sorry about your setback. There are lots of inventive ways to get good workouts without a foot but it is a challenge. Make sure you give yourself time to heal (pun intended)! Keep up the good work! Angelheart1066
Day 7- everyone in my family are surprised I've stuck this far without giving into temptation. I have family members eating biscuits and other non compliant food in front of me. I have resisted saying yes to an offer of chocolate and biscuits. I've even been to a pizza restaurant and for the first time in my life not ordered a pizza!!! Yes it was torture and everyone around me tucking into the warm crusty pizza. I pretended to enjoy a salad from the side order menu. In the past on diets I have shown poor willpower and after a day I will be eating chocolate and slices of cake. Then telling my family members this is allowed on my diet or I'm restarting my diet tomorrow. I have been restarting my diet for the last 20 years. This time round this whole 30 way of eating seems to have connected with me. I always said I didn't want to be fat at 40. I've been saying this mantra for the last 20 years and never managing to lose the excess 20 to 30 pounds. I'm 3 months away from turning 40. Fingers crossed I will be in a healthy weight range by October :-)

Angelheart1066
I had headaches too. I drank more water , cups of green tea and matcha tea. It seemed to work. Sometimes i feel I have a hint of a headache and I'm on day 7. I need to increase my water intake. I had a black coffee yesterday and I felt better and my head was pain free. Today I have a dull headache.
